And now, Eclipse has arrived and the reception is mixed, although most, if not all think that this is the best… among the three. It seems like Twilight films have a criteria on their own. As of now The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has 52% positive reviews out of 132, with 69 fresh and 63 rotten, and with an average rating of 5.7/10. But despite of all that the movie has already broken a handful records.

Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun Times: “For most of its languorous running time, it listens to conversations between Bella and Edward, Bella and Jacob, Edward and Jacob, and Edward and Bella and Jacob. This would play better if any of them were better conversationalists, but their ideas are limited to simplistic rendering of their desires.”

Peter Deburge, Variety: “Eclipse feels the most cinematic of the series so far. Visual effects have improved considerably…the digital work outshines the other department, with bad make-up, lifeless wigs and creepy contacts being the elements that disrupts the fantasy.”

Kirk Honeycutt, The Hollywood Reporter, “It took three films, but the Twilight Saga finally just nails the right tone in Eclipse, a film that neatly balances the teenage operatic passions from Stephenie Meyer’s novels with the movies’ supernatural trappings.”

E! Online gave it a C and said, “The Twihards will adore The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, no matter what. It’s made for people who thought the first movie was quality cinema, after all, and for them, our grade may as well be an A+, since it’s slightly better than Twilight.”

Eclipse was officially released at 12:01 am in more than 4,000 theaters. The film then raked in an estimated $30 million at the box office in the midnight screening, according to The Hollywood Reporter. New Moon previously was released in 3,514 theaters and had grossed $26.3 million which they set just about eight months ago. Before the two Twilight movies, Harry Potter and the half Blood Prince last year with $22.2 million. The third entry of the Twilight also surpassed the record of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen for having the highest grossing midnight opening at the IMAX theaters. The vampire movie raked in more than $1 million in 192 theaters, while the science fiction action film earned $959,000 last year.

But will the movie surpass the record set by New Moon last November for having the biggest single day opening earnings with $72.7 million in domestic gross? The movie Eclipse will be released in a record-setting $4,416 theaters, and it will also be shown in IMAX screens.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is directed by David Slade, with screenplay Melissa Rosenberg and music by three-time Award winner Howard Shore. The movie stars Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Kristen Stewart.

The movie Eclipse has broken the record set by Iron Man 2 just last may for having the biggest theatrical release in the film history in North America. The third installment of the Twilight series was shown in 4,416 venues, surpassing the Marvel Comics superhero sequel which was released in 4,380 theaters. Before them, the record was previously held by The Dark Knight in 2008 with 4,366 cinemas.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is based on the last novel of the Twilight series Stephenie Meyer of the same title. Breaking Dawn has sold more than six million copies in 2008, making it the biggest selling children’s book that year. It also won several awards including Children’s Book of the Year at the British Book Award, beating J.K. Rowling’s The Tales of Beetle the Bard, and in 2009, during the Children’s Choice Book Awards, it grabbed Teen Choice book of the Year and Author of the Year for Meyer.

In Breaking Dawn, Bella Swan and Edward Cullen got married and went on to their honeymoon. Edward hesitated before in making love with Bella in fear that while they were doing it, he would kill her. She suffered some bruises but when they tried doing it again Edward became careful that Bella would not get hurt. After some time, she got pregnant. But will she survive her pregnancy? Will their baby be an “immortal child” like what the others and most importantly, the Volturi clan, fear that they will not hesitate in killing the baby? Will Bella be turned finally into a vampire or would she remain a mortal? And what about Jacob Black? What will happen to him?

For now they are still holding up the announcement of the next film for they might change some cast this time, just like what they did with Rachelle Lefevre on Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Yes, Summit Entertainment are already finalizing  the agreement with the big stars of the Twilight series, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner to reprise their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen and Jacob Black, respectively.

It is understandable that there will be an increase in their payback this time as Bill Condon, the next director of the film Breaking Dawn, has already signed the contract, the two films will start its development this fall and will be a back-to-back release this coming November 2011 and in summer in 2012.

Yet  Summit is still having a hard time dealing with other cast of the series, though Peter Facinelli (Dr. Carlisle Cullen) and Billy Burke (Bella’ father) are done.  Yet it seems Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene, both the Cullen kids are trying to sink their teeth into bigger paydays but the studio are not willing to provide.

“We may have a situation where one of them is thrown out on the street to make a point,” says a source close to the dealmaking.

Holding the role of Victoria is  Bryce Dallas HJoward en lieu of Lefevre since her reps who are having a ‘hardball on money’. Sources say

‘the offers from Summit — which are said to be at least 10 times what the actors made on the first movie — were deemed “offensive” given the mega-money the franchise has generated’.

Still the Summit declines to give their comments regarding this matter, still the studio wants to move on with the next step to the success of  the two films. They told the  crowd thatthey are not afraid to launch a re-casting if they’ll be having a difficulty in finalizing the agreements. Their main focus this time is the  cost of the film , though it’s already a blockbuster franchise, Twilight series are becoming more expensive with each installment.

Summit Entertainment and his berks, the Chop Shop Records and the Atlantic Records already confirmed just this week, the new and latest back-to-back hit of the first details of “THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE- ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK”!Yes, and it’s only yesterday since the MySpace Music has exclusively revealed the  dominating song in the list of soundtrack for the highly and much-awaited movie for this year, which will stands its grand debut on June 30.

Last time, the Muse had already slated its highlighted “Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever) as their brand new single, and was exclusive only for “ECLIPSE” soundtrack. This new soundtrack will be premiered this Monday, May 17, and will be available to be downloaded at iTunes.

Well, not only the Muse will hit the grounds of Twilight Eclipse but of course somer featured songs will be revealed from other bands as well. Joining are the songs from the Metric, The Dead Weather, Vampire Weekend, Cee Lo Green, The Bravery, Beck and Bat For Lashes, Florence + The Machine, UNKLE featuring The Black Angels, Fanfarlo and more. According to the source that each recording featured is exclusive to the soundtrack, having never been released previously

Alexandra Patsavas (Gossip Girl, Grey’s Anatomy), owner of the Chop Shop Music Supervision will reprise her role, not one in the characters, but to return as  “THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE” Soundtrack Album Producer/Music Supervisor, with the collaboration of Eclipse’s director, David Slade, they will be compiling the tracklisting. Paul Katz of Eye2Ear Music serves as both the producer of the album as well as Summit’s point person on film-related music and soundtracks.

“It has been such a privilege to work on ‘THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE’ with such creative and innovative talent,” says Patsavas.

“This soundtrack is our best example to date of our unique combination of major acts that are world renowned and wonderful new discoveries for many people. We really feel our Twilighters will have another great musical experience.” Katz adds.
The “TWILIGHT – ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK” has been a great franchise for the Summit Entertainment for notching a sell of more than 2.5 million copies in the U.S. alone and 1.4 million internationally. According to them, the soundtrack topped the Billboard 200 chart upon its release, marking the largest debut for an Atlantic Records soundtrack since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991. Wow! This is super-duper cool. I’m sure not just the movie will make a great blow for the fans, but the songs as well.

In one of the interview with Ashley Greene (Alice) she made a strong indication that there might be a fifth film since there are already four books published of the series of this Twilight: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse,and Breaking Dawn. “We have finished filming Eclipse and one would assume that, if New Moon does as well as Twilight, then we’ll start filming Breaking Dawn next year,” Ashley says.

But many says its too long to be filmed, and there might be a two film for this book.

“The only thing is, Breaking Dawn is a very large book so it would be a really long movie. We’re thinking they might decide to split it into two parts, like they did with Harry Potter. Either way, we need to get on with shooting them because, unlikeHarry Potter, vampires don’t age. So we all need to look the same!” Ashley added.
