Joan Jett and Cherie Currie are members of the famous teenage, all-girl rock band “The Runaways” which is a very successful music group in the year 1970 and it paved the way for future generations of girl groups in the music industry.
With the band’s tough-chick image and kick-ass talent, it wasn’t long before the group hit the jackpot and rose as one of the most popular girl bands of the 70′s. Under the influence of a rock impresario Kim Fowly, the band made a name for itself and not only the band, but the members as well. Joan Jett became the band’s pure rock’ n’ roll heart while Cherie Currie is the band’s sex kitten. Aside from the band’s outrageous success, Jett and Currie realizes that there are also problems to face along the path of fame and fortune.
The movie also shows the relationship between the two girls and how they manage everything when the band starts to break out. The film is set to hit the theaters this March 19. Twilight babe Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning plays Joan and Cherie in the film. Kim Fowley will be casted by Michael Shannon.
