Time flew and Mary never knew that Elizabeth grew up to be an intelligent and motivated lawyer with an innate hunger for her real mother’s caress. Lucy, a black woman, on the other hand, has been a prudent wife whose hope of becoming a mother was just an elusive dream. Desperate of having a child to call her own, she resorts to the idea of adopting a baby.
