Avatar once ruled the box-office once again. The movie, which is directed by James Cameron, who also brought us Titanic, leads the box-office in four consecutive weeks. The last movie to enjoy that incredible feat was The Dark Knight in 2008.
The 3D sci-fi movie has raked in $48.5 million from Friday through Sunday, across the United States and Canada, according to film’s distributor 20th Century Fox. The movie has experienced the lowest decline of any picture in wide release, with just 29% decrease from last weekend. Maybe a lot of people just decided to Watch Avatar Online Free. Not a good idea though since you can’t fully enjoy the film this way. The movie has been in theaters for 24 days. In just Canada and U.S. alone, it has grossed over $429 million alone, making it the seventh biggest of all time in North America, without accounting of inflation. The film needs to take in just over $100 million to take over the 2nd spot of The Dark Knight, at $533.3 million. Cameron also holds the record with Titanic, with $601 million.
Bert Livingston, 20th Century Fox distribution executive, said, “”I think we’ll get there very soon. I believe anything is possible with this picture. Nothing would surprise me. There’s a still a long way to go, and it’s going to keep on playing and playing.”
The blockbuster movie has already passed the $1 billion mark. Its international total gross of $906 million dollars, plus the domestic earnings will total to an astronomical $1.34 billion. It is now the second highest grossing film of all time. It has surpassed the tally of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, which took in $1.12 billion. It is just now behind Titanic, with a worldwide sales of $1.84 billion dollars back in 1997-98. With this magnificent achievement, Cameron has now the no. 1 and no. 2 highest grossing movies of all time.
The movie is reportedly the most expensive film ever made. It has a massive budget of at least $300 million to make this epic adventure to be brought in the big screen and you can of course Watch Avatar Online here on kralix if you’re not into watching movies in the cinemas.
