The cast and crew of the upcoming epic movie Clash of the Titans will once again unite. Not for a reunion party but to reshoot. Sam Worthington, who plays the lead character, Perseus said on an interview to the Los Angeles Times that they will regroup on January next year to reshoot sections of the movie and to add some extra scenes. The movie is set to be released on March 26, 2010. So does reshooting spells trouble for the movie? Not so, Worthington said. The bosses felt that the bosses called everybody back to duty because they were so pleased with the director’s, Louis Leterier, job that they wanted to spurge their money on Clash of the Titans. They felt that the movie will be a hit, when the two Clash of the Titans trailers that they have released were well received by fans.
Even if it means an extra work for a few months, Worthington is very enthusiastic with Warner Brothers’ decision to reshoot. He told the L. A. Times, “We’re going to be going back and shooting more scenes for it, they cut loose with some money so we can add to it. We’re going to be shooting more scenes in January, so we’re going to be right up against it – the movie comes out in March. There were some creaky parts but they are the parts that we knew were creaky and that we knew were going to be creaky going into it. The studio is also letting us add some gods and scenes.”
But adding more scenes is not just what they are up to. There have been talks that they will turn the movie into 3D. He added, “And they’re talking about making the movie a 3D film.”
3D? In three months? Will the time be enough to convert the film into 3D? Remember, Cabin in the Woods was pushed back a year, a whole year, to change the movie to 3D. Is technology now fast enough to do that in time for the March release? Or will they push back also the date?
Worthington was also in the 3D movie by Academy Award winner and Titanic director James Cameron, Avatar. The people in WB seem like they want to follow Avatar’s success, which raked in $242.5 million worldwide.
Clash of the Titans is a retelling of the Desmond Davis’ 1981 movie of the same title. The film is loosely based on the Greek myth of Perseus. It also stars Liam Neeson (Zeus), Ralph Fiennes (Hades), Alexa Davlos (Andromeda), and Gemma Arterton (Io).
So what do you think of the last minute reshoots? Is the movie really plagued with problems that they are trying to keep from us? Or do they just really want to make it better? And as for the 3D… We will just have to wait and see if it will push and if they can make it and then you can all Watch Clash of the Titans Online Free on this site a day after the release of the movie. But given the hype and based on the trailers, it will sure be a big hit like 2007′s 300. Or it could go the other way around and be a big miss, like 2008′s 10, 000 B. C.
